Its finally warm out and I mean like 85 this afternoon. There are bugs everywhere, the birds are going crazy and kids are out and about with short sleeves and shorts. The bicyclists have come back in force and are taking over the roads, I am loving riding at night and don't really want to head home.

But alas, the lack of a cell phone and any other fellow service workers that hold such extraordinary hours does relegate me to a life of induced solitude. How shitty. But thats ok, its one of those things that living abroad does to you. It demonstrates who the people with real skin are. It shows who cares, who doesnt and who is important. It shows me things that I sometimes can't show myself. So now, to a few hours of reading, sitting outside and maybe phone calls I go. Im no ascetic, Im no hermit, I love people. Its just hard learning that sometimes I will be alone and will have no one to talk to, hang out with or be around. This seems to just be part of the inevitable transition between academia and the working world. Its unfortunate that it affords very little time for people to be together in organic unforced settings.

El sigh.

Vamos a las bicis!
